ServerDirect today announces the launch of its new server configurator at www.serverdirect.nl/configurator. The configurator enables organizations to build complete server configurations based on their own workload requirements, ranging from chassis and processors to memory, storage and network interfaces.

In the first phase, five Supermicro systems are available. Dell, HPE, Asus, Gigabyte and Lenovo platforms will be added to the configurator in the coming period.

Configuration based on architecture,

The configurator has been developed according to the same principles that form the foundation of how ServerDirect designs and assembles infrastructure. Every server configured through the platform is built, assembled and tested to order by ServerDirect engineers in Gouda.

Rather than offering a selection of predefined systems, the configurator provides a structured approach where customers make choices that directly align with their specific environment and workload requirements. In practice, this distinction is highly relevant.

An environment primarily running data-intensive AI workloads has very different requirements for memory bandwidth, storage capacity and I/O topology compared to a research cluster or an enterprise environment focused on high availability. The configurator supports this process by clearly presenting the relevant component choices for each system.

The configurator was built around the way we think about infrastructure ourselves. Which processor architecture fits the workload? How much memory bandwidth is required? What are the short-term and long-term storage requirements? Those are the questions that matter, and the configurator helps customers make those decisions in a structured way. Every system that comes out of it is then built and tested by our engineers.

Built and tested in Gouda

All systems ordered through the configurator are assembled and tested at ServerDirect’s facility in Gouda. Engineers who work daily on complex infrastructure projects for research, HPC and enterprise environments build and validate every system before delivery.

This approach ensures that the configuration created online also performs as intended in production environments.

In the coming months, ServerDirect will expand the configurator with support for Dell, HPE, Asus, Gigabyte and Lenovo systems.
